| TSI

Thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI) is an antibody produced by the autoimmune system.that has a similar effect to thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).Thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins recognize and bind to the TSH receptor, which stimulates the secretion of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroxine receptors in the pituitary gland are activated by the surplus hormone, suppressing additional release of TSH in a negative feedback loop. The result is very high levels of circulating thyroid hormones and a low TSH level.

The recovery of Human TSI spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human TSI and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
